Waterbury (WTNH) - A group of firefighters are doing a little showing off for a good cause.

It's hot off the presses; the 2010 Waterbury Firefighter Calendar is out. And the man of the month is not a model but an honest to goodness firefighter.

"This is the fourth year, we have been doing it, and I know it was coming around; I got in shape this year and did it," said firefighter Phil Docchio.

Benching well over 300 pounds, Docchio made sure he was ready to take it off and strike a pose for June.

Wilson: "Do you take a lot of grief from the other guys about it?"
Docchio: "Yeah, a lot."

They take the heat from the other firefighters all to help the children. The calendars are $10 and all $10 goes to the Children's Burn Camp in Unionville, Connecticut, a place for burned children to heal.

"We run across it on the job; it's one of the things you don't like to see but it's there, it happens," Docchio said.

And they want to make sure when it happens, the children have a safe place to heal. So while they have a lot of fun, they know the calendar is serious business. And even for Mr. July, who has is a veteran, it's not easy.

"We did it for the state of Connecticut, and then four-years for Waterbury, and it is always the same thing; you just have to get up for it and do it," said Waterbury firefighter Jamie Musumano.

"Every year we have raised around $16,000 and this year we are hoping to top $20,000," said Waterbury firefighter Scott Breive. "We will see if we can get there."
