Nurse who stole narcotics is sentenced

West Haven (WTNH) - A former nurse at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, in West Haven, was sentenced Monday to one year of probation for stealing narcotics from the center where she was employed.

Agavie Osbey, 32, of New London was ordered to play a fine in the amount of $500.

On August 7, 2009, she pleaded guilty to one count of theft of government property.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on several occasions between June 2007 and October 2007, Osbey took various narcotics intended for patient care.

This matter was investigated by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Inspector General, Criminal Investigations Division and the VA Police.
