NJ man dies at Conn. lake

OXFORD, Conn. (AP) — State Police say a New Jersey man has died at a Connecticut lake.

Police said Sunday that Vignesh Viswanathan of Edison, N.J., was declared dead at Lake Zoar on Saturday night. He was 26.

A town of Oxford parks and recreation employee said a group of hikers noticed that a member of the group was missing and several articles of clothing were still on the beach.

State Police and others from area fire departments, state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and Lake Zoar Authority searched with boats and divers.

An autopsy will be performed on Monday by the office of the Chief State's Medical Examiner.

No other details were immediately available.
