CHESHIRE, Conn. (WTNH) --A 67-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition Friday after he was struck by a truck on West Main Street in Cheshire.
It happened around 7:00 a.m. on West Main St. (Route 68/70) near the intersection of Rumberg Road.
When police got there they found David Giraldi, who lives on Rumberg Road, lying in the road with what were described as life-threatening injuries. He was taken to St. Mary's hospital.
The truck, driven by Peter Heynen of Cheshire was traveling west on West Main when Giraldi was struck.
West Main was closed while police investigated what happened.
