WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- Four Waterbury schools dismissed classes early Wednesday due to a power outage caused by snow removing equipment.
The schools were Wilby High School, North End Middle School, Bucks Hill and Bucks Hill pre-k.
The outage occurred around 10:00 a.m. According to police, a payloader that was removing snow from the blizzard struck a utility pole in the area of Bucks Hill Road, and that caused the outage.
Around 11:30 a.m., Connecticut Light & Power was reporting outages impacting 1,038 customers in Waterbury. by 2:20 p.m., that number was reduced to 442 customers.
