New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - Two dollars and a dream, that's all you need at a chance to win Saturday's Powerball jackpot of $310 million.
Saturday night's Powerball jackpot has been skyrocketing and there seem to be plenty of people looking to pilot the ship.
"Just buying 20 dollars worth. Usually I just buy a couple, but 310 million," said Dave Settembre.
Several weeks ago, the cost of a single play was increased from $1 to $2. It forced some people to have fewer chances, but it hasn't put a crimp in their plans for winning.
"I'd help wounded soldiers and all kinds of charities for one thing," said Settembre.
Most people still go with the Quick Pick, however Ed Finnimore puts a little twist into that strategy.
"I play the Powerball 21 then I make the other one's Quick Picks," he explained. "So if the Power 21 comes out I have a better chance I think."
The $310 million prize has a $193 million cash value before taxes.
