WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)-- The American Red Cross is helping two West Haven families after there was a fire in their home on Saturday night.
West Haven fire department says it was a residential fire, at 26 Rock Ledge, that started next to a boiler, where stuff was stored too close to it.
No injuries were reported and the damages were internal from smoke and water. The two families living in the house will be displaced for the next few weeks until the landlord can fix the damages.
The American Red Cross is helping the four adults and two children in the families, by providing them with emergency housing, food and clothing needs.
The Red Cross says they also provided comfort kits that include personal care items and children's kits with toys.
