Report: Cop accused in hit & run quits

New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - A rookie cop from New Haven accused of leaving the scene after hitting a 14-year old girl with his unregistered motorcycle has reportedly resigned from the department.

The New Haven Register reports 24-year old Marquis Morrison of New Haven resigned Thursday ahead of a hearing before the Board of Police Commissioners.

The alleged incident occurred back in April when Morrison was off-duty. Reportedly a deal was worked out allowing Morrison to resign.
