NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)-- It's still a week until New Haven's St Patrick's Day Parade, but  Sunday, lots of folks in green were in downtown New Haven.

Over 2,000 runners took part in the annual Sham-Rock and Roll Run, sponsored by 99.1 WPLR.

The event also collected donations for the Diaper Bank.

"Overall, the majority of our clients are working, you know, moms and dads who really just don't make enough money to provide the basic needs to their families, which includes diapers," said Janet Alfano, of the Diaper Bank,

The Diaper Bank serves families in New Haven, Bridgeport, Hartford and Middlesex Counties.
