NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A shooting at a midnight showing of the The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado has some in Connecticut nervous about sitting in a dark theater.
On Friday morning it seemed the tragedy in Colorado was no more a deterrent than the rain as Batman fans entered the Rave Motion Pictures in North Haven.
Folks on their way to the 11 a.m. showing told News 8's Jeff Valin they were aware of what happened in Aurora, but even a local chapter of the Boys & Girls Club decided the debut of The Dark Knight Rises was worth it.
"I'm happy that we're definitely going to see it in the daytime, that's one thing," said Enudinisu Ekere. "I don't know, I think it's just a tragic incident."
"No, I just think it was some random act of violence," said Jordan Taylor.
"So, you don't feel any differently about going to see it today," Valin asked.
"No, I don't. It doesn't affect me in any way possible."
"People are going to try to tie it to the movie, but nobody's really seen the movie yet, so how could you tie it to the movie," said Dean Proto.
Some reports suggest that the Colorado gunman was dressed as the movie's primary antagonist, and might have timed his entrance to a specific moment in the show to coincide with a shoot out.
