NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- A stolen car was discovered in the West River in New Haven Saturday.
Around 8:30 a.m., a woman called police saying that she believed a car was submerged in the river. She told police she had been out for a stroll when she spotted it.
The police dive team was dispatched and made their way to the car, which was about 100 ft. from the bank, nearest to the park at Ella T. Grasso Blvd. and Derby Avenue.
Heavy equipment was used to pull the car out. Police said the only thing found inside was a fish.
The car, a 1997 Nissan Altima, had been reported stolen on May 15th. It was towed to the New Haven Police Department impound yard where it is going to be examined.
