(WTNH) -- Heavy rain and higher than normal tides flooded some roads along the shoreline in New Haven and Fairfield Counties Wednesday.
Flood warning sirens wailed in Milford a little before noon.
In East Haven, roads in the Cosey Beach section were covered with water.
The Department of Transportation closed the Exit 30 off ramp from I-95 in Stratford because of high water, but one car didn't get away from the water in time and was flooded.
A Coastal Flood Advisory was in effect until 2:00 p.m. Tides were expected to be two and a half to three feet above normal this afternoon.
