Superintendent taks about 'staged' fight videos

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Staged fight videos uploaded by students a year ago were just brought to the attention of the West Haven Police Department. And it's raising some questions as to who is responsible for punishing the students.

The West Haven Superintendent says in the past they've expelled students who misuse social media and put others in danger at school.

However, in this case the fighting is happening off campus, so the school doesn't have responsibility.

"Quite frankly there's not much the school can do about it," the Superintendent said. "Kids can fight outside of school and do other things, it's when they bring them back into the school or there's some kind of school connection that they can be disciplined for."

Police are keeping a close eye on this behavior.
