WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) -- Supporting childhood development was the message from city officials in Waterbury on Thursday.
Officials met with partners of the Bridge to Success initiative at City Hall.
The group is made up local organizations dedicated to improving things like literacy, nutrition and mental health.
On Thursday they unveiled the ways their efforts are aligning with the city's plan for kids.
"We all gathered together and said why can't we all bring our resources together and collectively try to achieve the same thing, but together. We'll actually do much better if we all work together," said Dr. Dolton James, Chair of Bridge to Success Community Council.
Waterbury was recently named one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People, awarded by America's Promise Alliance for the third year in a row.
