WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two dozen New Haven teenagers spent the week studying forensic science at the University of New Haven.

It's part of a summer program at the Henry Lee Institute.

On Friday morning, the famous scientist Dr. Henry Lee dropped by. He talked about the importance of getting young people interested in forensics.

"So the next generation, if they can learn what we know, can improve and in the future can protect the citizens of our country much better than what we can do right now," he said.

Lee consulted on some of the biggest cases in recent history, but the students were on their own when it came to analyzing four different crime scenes set up by instructors.
