Branford, Conn. (WTNH) - Chemical clean-up crews were called out to a Branford truck stop Wednesday night after industrial strength cleaning fluid leaked from the back of a truck.
A truck driver was fueling up his tractor trailer at the T/A Travel Center near exit 56 on I-95 around 7:15 p.m. when he noticed fluid leaking out the back of the trailer.
The driver moved the vehicle to the back of the facilty and contacted authorities. Local and state police, along with a crew from the Department of Environmental Protection, responded to the scene.
It was determined that 110 gallons of industrial garage floor cleaner had leaked from the trailer.
State Police issued several infractions against the company because the driver was carrying chemicals that were not properly secured.
The company planned to bring a new trailer to secure the other chemicals in the trailer before it continues to its destination in Pennsylvania.
