New Haven, Conn (WTNH) - New Haven police are investigating two shootings this weekend that has left two people dead.

The first shooting occurred Friday morning at 1:50am on Diamond Street. When officers arrived on the scene they located Donnell Allick, 31, of New Haven, who had been shot multiple times in the back. Allick would later die at an area hospital from his injuries.

Detectives believe that Allick was specifically targeted, and ambushed, as a result of a suspected domestic dispute.

Police are also investigating a shooting Saturday morning just before 10:00am at the corner of Carmel and Percival Streets. Upon arrival, officers found Travis Washington, 17, of New Haven, suffering from multiple gun shot wounds to the chest. Washington also died at the hospital from his injuries.

Detectives have confirmed that Washington was specifically targeted, and the shooter first confirmed Washington's identity before drawing a handgun and shooting him.

Investigators are currently pursuing many leads at this time, and complete details surrounding both incidents are developing. If you have any information about either shooting, you're asked to call New Haven Police at (203) 946-6304. Police said all tips will remain confidential.
