Two killed in North Branford shooting

NORTH BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- Two people were killed and one was rushed to the hospital after a shooting in North Branford Saturday evening.

Police were dispatched to a home at 55 Brook Lane, around 7:30 p.m. for a reported shooting. 

Police say a 42-year-old man and 39-year-old woman died in the shooting. Neighbors tell News 8 that the man and woman had a two-year-old child.  A 72-year-old man was also shot, and was rushed to the hospital.  His current condition is unknown at this time.

"It's incredibly sad, because there is children involved. That makes it worse," said Debra DelTorro, a neighbor of the victims.

Neighbors also told News 8 they never heard any gunshots at the time of the shooting. 

"I heard no gunshots. I was home all night. The guy right next door to them was right outside in his backyard, and nobody heard a thing," said DelTorro.

"We would like to make the people and the residents of North Branford that reside in this area aware that we feel that this is an isolated incident, we feel that it was possibly domestic in nature, and that there's no immediate threat to anybody in North Branford," Lt. David D'Ancicco said.
