MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Officials have identified a man and a woman who were found dead inside a Meriden apartment on Tuesday.
Melinda Curtis, 49, and James Ahern, 50, were found dead inside Curtis' apartment on Eddy Avenue in Meriden Tuesday afternoon.
Police say they got a call from the Curtis' daughter on Tuesday morning. She told officers she was worried because she hadn't heard from her mother.
A neighbor told News 8 she heard a "pop pop sound" around 1 p.m. on Monday, but didn't know if it was a gunshot or a firecracker.
Neighbors say Curtis and Ahern were in a relationship and were known to argue.
Meriden police say they believe the incident is domestic in nature. A handgun was found near the bodies.
An autopsy will be performed on both bodies to determine the exact cause of death.
