MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Friends and family gathered in Meriden to remember and pray for the victims of a violent attack that happened on Friday.

In the stabbing, 15-year-old Deandre Felton was killed and the teenage friend he was walking with survived with serious injuries.

The vigil began around 5 p.m. Sunday at Washington Park and over 250 people came to pay their respects to the victims.

News 8 has learned that Deandre was a very good football player, so the location of the vigil was quite fitting.
