MADISON, Conn. (WTNH)-- Family and friends of Barbara Hamburg are wearing a ribbon. The yellow part of it represents Hamburg's favorite color, the purple part represents domestic violence.

Barbara Hamburg was found murdered outside her Madison home three years ago today. Every year since, her loved ones gather to sing Hamburg's favorite songs and share memories.

Hamburg was a mother of two. News 8 was told she loved talking about her kids and traveling.

Shortly after her murder, Hamburg's ex-husband, Jeffrey Hamburg, was questioned by police but never charged.

Three years later, the case is still open.

"They're still working in it. It's just nothing has really happened that's helping us, so that's why I have you guys come ask for help from anyone that might have seen something that day," said her sister, Conway Beach.

Though Hamburg's ex-husband  was never charged in the murder, he is still in a legal battle. A lawyer for Barbara's estate tells News 8 that Jeffrey Hamburg is paying back tens of thousands of dollars he owes their children.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Madison police.
