Voters oppose illegal immigrant driver's licenses

(WTNH) -- Connecticut voters are overwhelmingly opposed to a plan to allow illegal immigrants to get driver's licenses.

65 percent of voters telling the Quinnipiac University poll that they think the plan is a bad idea. 

Just 31 percent think allowing illegal immigrants to get a driver's license would be a good idea.

"A clear majority who said that they oppose allowing illegal immigrants to get driver's licenses," said Doug Schwartz, Quinnipiac Poll.

Those advocating the idea say it would allow those here illegally to purchase auto insurance and have bank accounts.
