Walk to raise money for diabetes research

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) -- Thousands of people laced up their walking shoes on Sunday to help raise money to help battle diabetes.

The 2012 Walk to Cure Diabetes stepped off at Quinnipiac University in North Haven.

The event got a great turnout and the goal is to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Another walk is planned in Niantic on October 14th.
