MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A water rescue for a missing kayaker in Milford was called off Sunday night due to weather conditions.
The Milford Fire Department, along with the Coast Guard was searching the waters off Silver Sands State Park for a male kayaker Sunday.
The search was in the area of Silver Sands Beach, near Charles Island.
On Sunday, two men were kayaking when witnesses say they both went under the water. One man was rescued and is hospitalized with hypothermia.
The search for the other male was suspended Sunday night due to weather.
According to reports, the two 21-year-old kayakers were not wearing life jackets at the time of the incident.
No identities have been released at this time.
It is uncertain where the men set off to go kayaking or how long they were in the water before going under.
