Woman hospitalized after fire

Meriden, Conn. (WTNH) - A woman was taken to the hospital early Thursday after a fire in a multi-family home.

The fire happened at 60 Prospect St. after 3:00 a.m.

Firefighters on the scene told News Channel 8 an elderly woman was taken to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

Six people on the first floor now do not have electricty. They are staying with relatives.
Residents of the 2nd and 3rd floor were let back in the building.

There are no reports of any other injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The woman has not been publicly identified.
