Woman run over by her own car

WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 59-year-old woman was run over by her own car after trying to stop it from rolling down her driveway.

According to police, Isabel Hernandez was in her driveway on 12 Pondside Drive when she reached in to turn off her car, a 2007 Honda Pilot.

Police said her driveway is at an incline and the car began to roll backwards and as she tried to stop the car, she fell.

The driver side front tire ran over the mid section of her body, police said.

She was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital with internal injuries.

Her condition is unknown.
