Woman wakes to see intruder by her bed

ANSONIA, Conn. (WTNH) -- A woman in Ansonia says she woke up to find a stranger at her bedside.

Police say he grabbed her arm and took off.

And it's not the first time it has happened in the apartment complex.

As bizzarre as the scenario is, police say it happened June 30th as well to a different woman.

Neighbors woke up to startling notices hanging on their doors.

"I couldn't believe it," said Janaye Hernandez. "It's right next door to me and I know her."

It says she woke up to a man at her bedside just after 3 a.m. The man grabbed her arm, and demanded she take off her clothes.

Luckily she got away screaming for help. Someone heard her and called 911.

"I spoke to her Monday and I noticed the bruises on her arm," said Georgejinna Chevrette, friend. "I've know her for a long time. We're all concerned about her."

Police say she's not the first victim at Beaver Brook to wake up in a similar manner. Back in June, a woman woke up at 4 a.m. with a man's hand on her thigh.

"That's scary," said 3-year-resident Sherita Pickett. "No one should want to wake up in their own house to someone staring at them."

What's even more concerning is that the apartment complex told residents they had several failed attempts. Reports of someone staring in windows and trying to open doors.

"It was like shocking, Pickett said.

Pickett says her sliding back door is secure, other neighbors are keeping a watchful eye like Hernandez, who is worried for her friend.

"I feel bad for her, I hope she comes out, we can talk to her. I hope everything's okay and he didn't get to hurt her at all," Hernandez said.
