OXFORD, Conn. (AP) — Two Oxford women were hospitalized after being attacked by a neighbor's German shepherd.
Police tell the Republican-American newspaper the dog crossed Christina Drive from its home Tuesday night, chased and jumped the women.
Forty-nine-year-old Karen Rand and 37-year-old Christine Loescher were taken by ambulance to a local hospital with bite wounds to their arms and legs.
Police say the dog attacked one of the women, then broke away from its owner and ran back to attack the other woman who had gone to assist the first victim.
The dog's owner, 50-year-old Linda Riso, has been cited for having an expired rabies certificate, two counts of having a nuisance animal and two counts of allowing a dog to roam.
