New Haven, Conn. (WTNH) - Milford Police released details on Sunday regarding the arrest of Desiree Fontaine, a resident of Milford. Fontaine was booked Saturday at the police department on a charge of larceny in the 6th degree.
The police report states that Fontaine was arrested Saturday after being confronted by security in the Sears store in Milford. The allegation is that she attempted to take merchandise from the store worth $104.98 without paying.
She was released on a promise to appear in court on July 7th.
Ms. Fontaine is employed by WTNH as its morning news traffic reporter and also anchors the station's "Connecticut Style" program. WTNH's News Director, Kirk Varner stated that the station would not have any comment on what he called "a personnel matter" at this time.
