MYSTIC, Conn. (AP) — Fire officials in Mystic say a broken sprinkler pipe flooded part of a local nursing home and forced care workers to relocate 25 residents.

Old Mystic Fire Chief Ken Richards Jr. told The Day of New London that the broken pipe sent hundreds of gallons of water into the "C'' wing at the Mystic Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center on Sunday night and left the wing flooded with three inches of water.

No one was injured. It's not clear what caused the pipe to burst.

Officials called 10 ambulances to the nursing home to transport the affected residents to other facilities for a day or two while crews remove the water and clean up the building.

About 100 people live at the nursing home.
