Uncasville, Conn. (WTNH) - Tough financial times take a chunk out of Mohegan Sun's profits.
The Tribe has released third quarter figures, and they show that the operating income at the casino in Uncasville fell 17-percent during the April to June period. The loss totaled 45 million-dollars.
"We are certainly disappointed with our results for the quarter," said authority CEO Mitchell Grossinger Etess. "While we did experience sequential improvement in our revenues, particularly at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, earlier this year, that trend did not continue during the third quarter."
Officials blame the losses on a slow economy and continued "weakness in consumer spending."
