Amber alert canceled, 3 found dead

NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police say two boys and their grandmother were found dead in a car Tuesday night. An amber alert was issued after the grandmother abducted the children from daycare Tuesday afternoon.

Today 02/26/13 shortly after 4:00 p.m. State Police Troop E received a report from the mother of two children Ashton Perry age 6 months and Alton Perry 2 years. The mother stated that the children had been picked up from their daycare in Danielson by their grandmother. The grandmother identified as DEBRA DENISON DOB 4/5/65 had picked up the children at about 2:30.m. and the children and grandmother could not be located.

Troopers initiated an investigation to attempt to locate the missing trio and vehicle . All area police agencies were notified of the investigation. Troopers and State Police Detectives responded to work on this investigation. In addition the State Police Missing Persons Unit Detectives also responded to assist in this investigation.

A complete description of the children,grandmother and missing vehicle was obtained and an Amber Alert was initiated in this case.

At approximately 9:30 State Police Troop E received a 911 call from civilians reporting that a suspicious vehicle was parked near Lake of Isle in Preston,Ct. It was reported that there were three injured people were inside the car two of which appeared to be children.

Troopers and EMS responded to the scene. The vehicle from the Amber Alert was located at the scene. One adult and two children were pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The scene was secured by Troop E Troopers and State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to conduct the investigation into these deaths.

The three have been tentatively identified as the missing grandmother and two children. A post mortem examination will be conducted by the Office of the Chief States Medical Examiner to determine the manner and cause of death.

The State Police investigation is continuing.

                                                                              

State police have issued an amber alert for 2 children from North Stonington who were taken by their grandmother.

Police are currently searching for 6-month-old Ashton and 2-year-old Alton Perry along with their grandmother Debra Denison, 47.

The two children were taken by their grandmother from daycare around 2:30 p.m. State police say Denison is bipolar and has medical conditions.

Denison was last seen wearing a purple fleece sweater, dark blue pants and white sneakers. She has brown hair, blue eyes, is 5'7'' and weighs 225 lbs.

Ashton was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and a brown aviator jacket. He has blonde hair, blue eyes, is 2'2'' and weighs 23 lbs.

Alton was last seen wearing a white checkered plaid shirt, dark blue jeans, brown boots and a brown Carhartt jacket. He had blonde hair, blue eyes, is 2'8'' and weighs 26 lbs.

Debra is driving a 2002 white Chrysler Town and Country Van with a CT license plate 445-ZAZ.
