Man arrested after Amber Alert issued for 9-year-old girl

STONINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- An Amber Alert issued for a 9-year-old Stonington girl has been canceled. The child has been found safe, and a registered sex offender is under arrest.
State Police confirm Daisha Rhodes was found safe and Daniel Candales is in custody.
The Amber Alert for Rhodes was issued after she disappeared from Stonington just after 7:00 p.m. Monday night.
She was found a couple hours later with Candales in a Stop & Shop parking lot in Richmond, Rhode Island.
Candales, of Lisbon, is a registered sex offender . He was convicted of three degree sexual assault in 1998.
