Apartment fire sends 1 to the hospital

NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- A fire tore through two apartments and sent one person to the hospital for burns.

According to the fire department, a call came in around 3:00 p.m. for a structre fire at 9 Grove Street.

Crews were able to knock down the fire at 5:00 p.m. and cleared the scene by 6:57 p.m.

The building had a first floor apartment and a second floor apartment. Both of the apartments are uninhabitable at this time.

1 person was sent to the hospital via ambulance with burns. The extent of the burns are unknown.

The fire remains under investigation.
