Body found in New London identified

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) -- Police say the body of a Massachusetts woman was found underneath a New London pier.
The body 29-year-old Katie Valvo was found on June 20 in Waterfront Park. Police say her last known address was in Otis, Massachusetts.
The state Medical Examiner's office has tentatively ruled her death was accidental. Officials are awaiting the results of toxicology tests before they can determine her exact cause of death.
After the body was found, the Executive Director of New London Homeless Hospitality Center told News 8 Valvo was on the waiting list for the shelter , which was at full capacity.
The incident remains under investigation.
