NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) - Three men who stole copper piping from a Norwich home have been arrested when trying to resell the piping at a downtown scrap yard.
The copper was stolen from a home on North Main Street. When police arrived at the residence they had just missed the thieves. It was later learned that the copper was taken to a scrap yard to be sold for cash.
The accused, Armando J. Rodriguez,35, Ricardo Garcia-Alvarez,27, and Alinson Amable,34, were taken into custody.
When processing the individuals, police learned that Amable has three warrants for his arrest in Worcestor and Massachusetts, for heroin trafficking.
Amable is being held on a $100,000 bond. His court date in Jan.27.
