STONINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) - A woman is reunited with her dog after it is finally out of quarantine.
Tears of joy flowed as Maggie the dog was released back to her owner Nancy Apthorp.
Maggie was quarantined back in October after she picked up a dead bat with her mouth.
Stonington authorities were concerned that she might have contracted rabies. Officials wanted to keep on eye on her for three months.
Maggie showed no signs of rabies, so she was let out almost one month early.
Maggie's owner fought for her release.
