Niantic, Conn. (WTNH) -- Lots of folks took advantage of the warm weather and headed to the beach to catch some rays.
By mid-morning, Rocky Neck State Park looked like mid-summer.
"I can't believe we're out here in April. It's fabulous," one said.
And with the amazing warm weather coinciding with a week off for many schools, it had the kids jumping for joy
Even though the air feels like summer, the water still feels like early spring.
"It's beautiful out today," said Kara Colon from East Hartford. "The water is cold, but it's nice to relax and put your feet in the sand."
"The water's very chilly. We did toes only, It's too frigid," said Monique Messenger from Manchester.
"The kids don't have school this week, so we came down to play on the beach," said Jamie Clark from Bristol.
The only problem with summer weather in April is there's nowhere to park at the beach.
