GROTON, Conn. (AP) - An attack submarine based in Groton is getting a new commander.

Navy Cmdr. George Arnold is turning over command of the USS Dallas at a ceremony Thursday on Submarine Base New London.

Arnold has been commanding officer of the Los Angeles-class submarine since August 2009. He will be replaced by Cmdr. Jack Houdeshell.

The Dallas was commissioned in 1981 and recently returned from a six-month deployment.
