Colchester, Conn. (WTNH) - It's well-known and well loved for it's burgers, fries, shakes and more; and now people are getting a taste much earlier in the season than ever.
For many people its' a sure sign of Spring to see Harry's Place open for the season.
When asked how he knew Harry's was open customer Tim Harris replied, "We look online. We wait every year to come down."
Harris will now be coming to Harry's Place once a week from Vernon.
Year after year they fire up the grill, and year after year the same people return for their burger and fries, along with other menu treats.
Lebanon resident Tom Kelly said he was "thrilled" to see it open.
There have been generations of customers, and generations of employees like Kyle Bentley.
"I'm so excited we never opened this early before," said Bentley. "So it's good to get in here, get things done, get open the right way."
The decision to open early was made Sunday by Suzanne Caruso and her brother who took over the business from their dad. He bought it in 1983. Harry's Place first opened in 1920. The warm weather is helping to make history.
"We had all our deliveries coming today anyway and we saw the weather," said Caruso. "So we just opened and we have very good employees who come at the last minute."
And apparently it was a pretty smart decision because even without any advertising at all, within the first two hours of being open Monday they had about a hundred customers.
