MONTVILLE, Conn. (WTNH) -- State and local police were called to Montville High School after a parent reported the possibility that a student was in possession of a weapon.
The school went into lockdown around 10:35 a.m. The lockdown was lifted around 12:00 p.m. after the school had been thoroughly searched by state and local police.
No weapons were found, but a student was questioned by police.
No injuries were reported.
Below is a copy of the letter the school sent home to parents:
This morning, at 10:35 AM, Montville High School received a credible phone call from a parent reporting the possibility of a student in possession of a weapon in school. Upon receiving this information, all students and staff immediately went into lockdown at Montville High School and police were called. Officers from the Montville Police Department and Connecticut State Police responded immediately and completed a thorough search. No weapons were found, but a student was detained for questioning. The lockdown was lifted at 12:00 PM and students and staff resumed the normal school schedule.
The safety and security of Montville students is our first priority. We want to assure you that no one was injured and all safety protocols were followed. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this event.
