MYSTIC, Conn. (WTNH) -- Talk about a whale with an eye for the arts: a beluga in Connecticut likes to be entertained by visitors.
The first time Juno went viral he appeared to be bopping his head along with a mariachi band.
"So Juno was displaying more of a mimic behavior," said Lindsey Nelson, Mystic Aquarium.
Now, he's again an internet sensation for appearing to appreciate some artwork.
"The sketch book's a great example of a visual enrichment," Nelson said. "It's not something that they see everyday so it might have caught Juno's eye at that time."
News 8 wanted to see if we could catch his eye.
So just like the artist, News 8's Tina Detelj showed Juno her notes, not sketches.
We decided it may be the notepad that interests him, and not necessarily what's on it.
Naluark, the other male at the aquarium, even joined Juno in coming up to the glass and taking an interest in the notepad.
Trainers at Mystic Aquarium say it's Juno's youthful curiosity. The females may have acted the same way when they were 10, back in the 80's.
"There just weren't any YouTube or TV cameras capturing it," asked Detelj.
"Nope, I don't think the internet caught on just yet until now," Nelson replied.
In any case, it's making Juno a big hit online.
"They're really cool," said Seth Raymond, of Thompson.
And a big hit in person.
"We saw him swimming by some people and open its mouth almost looking like they were trying to eat the kids," said Shawn Gallant, of Massachusetts. "It was kind of funny. The kids were getting a good laugh."
Juno does not disappoint.
If you aren't yet familiar with the whale that's making a splash both in the water and on the internet, visit YouTube to see Juno grooving to the mariachi band or showing an interest in the visual arts .
