New London parking ban to be in effect

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) -- There will be a parking ban in the City of New London effective tonight at 12:00 a.m.

There is free parking in the Water St. Garage.

Below is a press release from the police department:

Due to the significant amount of snowfall that is expected in the Southeastern Connecticut, The City of New London Winter Parking Ban is put in effect until such time as the snow plows have ended plowing operations.

When the parking ban is in effect:

No Parking on any streets in the Downtown Area.

No Parking on Narrow Streets.

Where parking is permitted on only one side of the street, follow posted regulations.

Where parking is permitted on both sides of the street, Park on the EVEN side of the street for the entire winter season.
