Fatal crash closes Route 2 in Preston

    Preston (WTNH) - An early morning bus crash in Preston claimed the life of a Norwich woman.

    The crash happened on Route 2 near School House Road a little after 3:00 a.m.

    Police say Valerie Blais, 29, was traveling east on Route 2 when she swerved into the westbound lane and struck a Peter Pan bus head-on.

    Blais died at the scene.

    Two people on board the bus suffered minor injuries.

    Authorities re-opened the road around 6:45am.
