Person killed by train in Waterford

Waterford (WTNH) - A person was struck and killed by an Acela train in Waterford.

It happened near the intersection of Gardiners Wood Road and Jordan Cove Road around 9am.

An spokesperson for Amtrak tells News Channel 8 that train number 2910 was en route to Boston from New York. The train has been stopped while authorities investigate.

The identity of the person killed has not been released.
