NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- You're doing a lot of things right if you live to be 100 years old. Well, one woman in Norwich is well past that barrier and still going strong.

At the ripe young age of 107 Anna Holzl can still teach all of us a little something about style.

"Do I look presentable," Anna asked.

Not just presentable, more like fantastic.

Wednesday, the birthday girl was the toast of St. Jude Common, the retirement home that Anna has called home for the past five years.

"Happy birthday to you."

News 8 couldn't wait to ask her the obvious question: what's the secret to a long and healthy life?

"If you're honest and keep on living, praying to God every day, I never miss my prayers, thank God," Anna said.

Anna also says she's been lucky to have a great family and good friends throughout her life.

The folks at St. Jude Common continue to marvel at her positive attitude.

"She's one of the best volunteers we've ever had here," said Margaret Mills, St. Jude Common. "She counts coupons for the veteran's association, she'd cut out as many coupons as we'd give her, she likes to keep her hands busy because she has arthritis."

On this day when everyone was enjoying her birthday cake, News 8 had to ask Anna about her favorite foods.

"Everything," she said.

A world traveler in days gone by, now Anna enjoys spending time with friends.

"We just sit and talk and do normal things that ladies do," said Marie Rieseck, friend.

And, hopefully Anna will be doing that for many more years to come.

"I don't drink, I don't smoke," Anna said. "I just live a good honest life, so I have nothing to worry about, yes."
