NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH)-- The seven Norwich police officers involved in the February 24th deadly shooting have been identified.

Police say Officers Mark Dean, Kyle Besse, Greg McDonald, Scott Meikle, Anthony Marceau, Richard Cannata, and Chase Chiangi remain on temporary administrative leave.

Last Sunday evening,  the officers shot and killed Michael Dugas, 52, after he failed to respond to directives given by them and drew a handgun from his pocket that he pointed at the officers.

Police were then forced to discharge their firearms. Dugas was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Officer McDonald was also involved in a shooting in February of 2012. His gun went off while trying to arrest a man.

This remains an active investigation, state police said Thursday.
