OLD LYME, Conn. (WTNH) -- The Town of Old Lyme's Emergency Operations Center released a storm update this morning.
The following is the statement released:
As of Thursday, roads from the new fallen snow overnight were cleared and we continued removing snow from the Lyme Street and Ferry Road area and trucked away. The remainder of the sidewalks at the north end of Lyme Street will be completed tomorrow.
Tonight's forecast is cloudy with temperature around 32 degrees. Early morning driving may experience Black Ice roadway conditions. Please continue to exercise caution at intersections and coming out of driveways as sight lines remain hampered by high snow piles.
Prediction of warm temperatures and sun on Friday will aid in melting. Roadway flooding may exist in low lying areas. If your neighborhood has drainage or snow issues please contact the Call Center at 860-598-0120. Provided the Estuary Council of Seniors in Old Saybrook opens, the Senior Center will open tomorrow under normal hours of 9 AM to 3 PM
The increased weight of melting snow on roofs increase the risk of structural collapse. Clearing snow off roofs and assisting proper drainage will help reduce the weight accumulation.
Regional School District 18 should be on a regular schedule again on Friday. Please watch for buses and pedestrians in roadways and sidewalks.
Town Hall continues normal daily operation. Shoreline Sanitation continues garbage and recycling collection this week under a "Monday-Holiday schedule". Residents are reminded NOT to place their containers IN the roadway.

Please use extreme caution when shoveling and clearing snow from driveways and walkways. Pacing yourself by doing a little at a time will help avoid injuries. Critical information will be announced as needed.
