LEBANON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A woman is in serious condition after being shot inside a Lebanon home Wednesday.

State Police investigators continue to gather evidence throughout most of the day. The home on Kick Hill Road in Lebanon houses the Salon Naturell by Pia.

News 8 found out Pia Strobel, the owner of the salon and home, which does have an attached apartment, may not be involved in the early morning shooting at all.

"The neighbors say that she's really friendly," said Brian Scungio, "they're happy with their haircuts."

State Police say it was a 26-year-old woman who was shot shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Due to the weather, Lifestar wasn't flying and she had to be transported by ambulance to Hartford Hospital where police say she is in very serious condition.

"Both forensic and physical evidence have been seized," said Lt. J. Paul Vance. "There are several witnesses and individuals that have been interviewed relative to this incident."

This isn't the first time police have been called to the home. Neighbors say her tenants have caused trouble before.

A few weeks ago a house party grew out of control.

"Unfortunately it didn't end very well," said Scungio. "It went on to the late hours and then State Troopers had to show up and break things up."

Jameson Whitney's friend was at that party.

"He said it was broken up by the cops, so I figured it was a rowdy affair," said Whitney.

Whitney's surprised to hear about the shooting, but not so shocked it happened at the home.

"From the way they were talking about it it wasn't really like a controlled situation," said Whitney, "so it's not...it's surprising that it happened, but if it was going to happen it makes sense that it was there."

According to Strobel's Facebook page she is dealing with a messy clean up and hoping things will now get back to normal.
