NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) -- Some businesses in Norwich are hoping to help revitalize the Rose City by expanding outdoors.
The Harp & Dragon Irish Pub wants to add tables out front, on the sidewalk and beyond.
The plan, backed by the Norwich Community Development Corporation, would turn some parking spots into a patio on weekends with the hope of helping boost businesses downtown.
"It would allow us to have between six and ten tables outside for patrons to be out and be seen in downtown Norwich," said Laurie Trainor of Harp & Dragon Irish Pub, "and bring some life to the city."
Chacer's Bar & Grill has also signed up for the outdoor expansion. which is still in the early planning stages and will need state and city approvals.
